Yemaya – A World-Traveled Sailing Catamaran

Yemaya is a sleek and powerful sailing catamaran (14 meters) with a remarkable history. For over a decade, she sailed around the globe with her experienced Captain Prem Deep — from the calm lagoons of the South Pacific to the wild waves of the Atlantic Ocean. Proven reliable and fast in all conditions, Yemaya handles everything from peaceful coastal cruising to serious ocean crossings with ease.

Light, Fast and Comfortable

Thanks to her lightweight construction, streamlined and award-winning design, Yemaya offers a uniquely stable and swift sailing experience. With a spacious deck, a bright and welcoming salon, a comfortable cockpit, and well-equipped cabins, she is loved by both crew and guests. Whether it’s relaxed cruising or adventurous sailing — Yemaya is always ready to set sail.

For the adventurous soul

Yemaya is ideal for those who love nature, movement, and meaningful experiences. There is room not only for sailing, swimming and exploring, but also for slowing down, reflecting, and reconnecting — for those open to a deeper journey.

The Name Yemaya

The catamaran is named after Yemaya, the West African goddess of the sea, fertility, and protection. In the Yoruba tradition, she is revered as the mother of all waters — powerful, nurturing, and deeply connected to life itself. Her spirit fits the essence of the ship: a source of freedom, strength, and care for all who come aboard.

Captain Prem Deep

Experienced World Sailor with a Calm Presence and a Human Approach

With over fifteen years of sailing experience and a full circumnavigation of the globe, Prem Deep brings more than just nautical expertise to each journey. Together with his partner, he spent years organizing small-scale, awareness-based sailing trips across the Caribbean, the South Pacific, Southeast Asia, and the Mediterranean. Now together with his sister, Francisca Boel, a Zen monk and lawyer, Deep also organizes leadership trainings aboard Yemaya (for further interest please visit www.LawyersAtTheHelm.com).

As a skipper, he is calm, clear, and steady — a trusted guide, even in challenging conditions. Guests appreciate his grounded presence, attentiveness, and thoughtfulness. He brings together safety and adventure, warmth and leadership.

With a background in art and a deep interest in mindfulness and personal development, his approach to sailing naturally includes space for reflection, meaningful conversation, and connection — always adapted to the wishes of the group.

Now back in the Netherlands, Deep sails from Monnickendam across the IJsselmeer, Markermeer and Wadden Sea — still with the same love for the wind, the wide horizon, and the people who come aboard.
